About
Opened in the summer of 2006 by art consultant Caroline Carlisle and artist Beth Gilmore, Twist quickly became known for its eclectic mix of local, regional and national artists. Additionally, Twist acquired a reputation among the Nashville art community for its creative installations and boutique-style affordable art shopping.

Located in the historic Arcade building in the heart of downtown, the gallery has becomean integral part of the burgeoning "Art at the Arcade" art community as well as an essential stop on Nashville's First Saturday Art Crawl route. Now in its fifth year, Twist continues to create exceptional art experiences for artists, collectors and visitors alike.
Founded in part to create an alternative to “one-night” art shows, Twist is a place where emerging and established artists can exhibit their work in a professional manner for longer periods of time creating more opportunities for sales, commissions and exposure. Additionally, Twist strives to offer a malleable exhibition area, allowing artists to change and shape the atmosphere of the space to better suit their individual artistic style. Shows change out monthly in both the main gallery and the "Etc." space, so stop by often!
